I saw Amazing Grace twice when it first was in theatres and enjoyed it very much as a scholar of Romantic Literature. Romantic poets like Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Hannah More were involved in abolitionism early on, in the 1790s. I am curently teaching a university course on "Poetry and Prose of the Romantic Period" and would like to show the DVD in my class on November 20 and 22, 2007. Will the DVD be released in time for me to show it to my students? - Natasha, Edmonton, Canada

When I saw Amazing Grace, it instantly topped my list of all time favorite movies. It impacted me specifically in two ways. First, it called me to grow deeper in my relationship with Christ. I was especially touched by the scene where Wilberforce is out behind his house in the morning, conversing with God, and admiring that spending time with his Lord was the only thing he desired. What a beautiful picture of being completely satisfied in Christ! Beyond that, I was impacted to look deeper into issues of modern day slavery. I've just graduated from college and have now decided to work towards a full-time career in the abolition movement. I guess in a sense, this film has helped to direct the course of the rest of my life! I’d say that’s a pretty big impact. - Michelle, , USA

This was hands-down this most inspiring movie I have ever seen. I was delighted that Wilberforce's story was finally being told, and I had feared that the movie may not be worthy of its subject. I needn't have worried. I had told my wife that I didn't want her to buy me another movie, because I didn't think I would ever again see a movie I'd want to watch again and again. This movie should be in every DVD collection. I look forward to adding it to mine. - David, , USA

I'm speechless. The purpose, the meaning, it was amazing and is a story that not will not die out as the fire or the chaff that bloweth away. The story to me represents today. People across the world are bound in a spiritual sense and we need to free them with the love of God. Ioan's acting brought the story to life. God bless, you have inspired me to do a story. Thank you for bringing a meaningful story to life. - Silas, , USA

Awesome movie, classic-style depiction of an awe-inspiring historical man who dared to stand morally against the publicly accepted slavery of the time. We need more films about true heroes on the silver screen. This movie is inspirational and its content special to me. Thank you! - ERW, , Canada

It was so touching to see how one man could change the course of history. His faith and determination really challenged me to evaluate my own life and gave me a strong passion for those in this world who are suffering and dying around us. God can do truly amazing things through the broken and battered souls who turn their lives over into His loving and gracious hands. - Janelle, , USA

This is a great movie. I like history. That was a very bad time for the poor slaves. It was great to see it in a movie. - Denese, , New Zealand

It touched me and helped me realise that if God gives you a gift it can be used to do His work in someway. Beautifully made. I cried. - Ellen, Nambour, Australia

I think this is one of the finest movies ever to come out. Every person should watch it at least once. They would learn the history of slavery and a wonderful song. - Deanna, Houston, USA

One of the best films we have ever seen. Superb acting and fantastic settings so realistic. Was it nominated for an Oscar? - Alfred, Chester, UK

It impacted me so much as my mom, she was going thru a difficult decision. "Should she speak about business or about faith?" And that scene when Wilbur was asking the same question, she also got the answer of "Perhaps you can do both." You did an Amazing job on that movie! - Kaylan, Lehi, USA

A worthwhile and uplifting film. A tribute to the best in each of us. I wanted to stand up in the theater and applaud more than once. The final scene is unforgettable for mind, heart and soul. - Pat, Oregon City, USA

I love this movie so much. - Kob, Bangkok, Thailand

My favourite song (even when I was lost). What an inspirational movie and a real tear jerker. - John, Darwin, Australia

Although it has taken over five years, I have finally found a film that exceeds Braveheart as number one on my list. Amazing Grace is a movie of courage, strength and passion. It challenged me to be more 'real' in the way I live my life, to not think what would I do in Australia has no effect on the rest of the world. - Andy, Brisbane, Australia

Awesome, Awesome, Oh did I say Awesome! This has to be one of the most anticpated DVDs I have ever awaited. - John, Broken Arrow, USA

I have always loved the song Amazing Grace and now to see the story behind the movie, well it is awesome. I am a Christian and was a bit skeptical about Hollywood making a movie about Christianity, but I was proven wrong. It is as the song says, "Amazing Grace." - Marie, Heathcote, Australia

It was great and I can't wait to see it again so I hear everything. It was deeply moving and inspiational. I thank God for His Amazing Grace! - Marty, Prairie Grove, USA

This movie has changed the way I look at life and my faith. As John Newton is yelling at William that if he takes on this mission he will undoubtably suffer for it, but he had to do it. We all have that calling. - Stephanie, Mercersberg, USA

Amazing Grace told the story of every one of us, crying out for Grace when we feel we are condemned even before and after we start! It has been the song I keep singing everytime I feel trapped. I've sang it in the middle of the night in the pouring rain with my dog Ebby. I've sang it outside of McDonalds by our United States of America Flag Pole when no one is listening. That is how I communicate my "HEART" and I feel no one is listening to my CRY. Those words set me free and everyone who embraces it! We were all SAVED at the cross of CALVARY with JESUS CHRIST our LORD and SAVIOR if we could walk into that LIGHT and BELIEVE that everyday well thats my HOPE, DREAM and DESIRE! Especially when we are in the biggest STORMS of our lives. - Jeanette, Nashville, USA

Great film, deep witness. He touched my heart deeply. I wonder when it will come out in Italian language! - Armando, Torino, Italy
